About Us
History
Dr. David Pittman preached his first sermon at a local Baptist church in east Texas when he was 16 years old. After graduating from Bible college, he immediately began full-time service for the Lord. He served as a youth pastor for 14 years before becoming the senior pastor of Temple Baptist Church of Dulles, Virginia. He faithfully served there as senior pastor for over 37 years. He has formerly served as Chairman of the Board of Baptist International Missions, Incorporated (BIMI), Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is currently serving on the Board of BIMI and Fundamental Baptist World-Wide Missions, Memphis, Tennessee. He is a past member of the Board of the Bill Rice Ranch, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and the Old Dominion Association of Church Schools, Broadway, Virginia.
Dr. Pittman has a son who served as a missionary in Uganda, Africa, for 13 years, and who is currently serving as Professor of Missions at Pensacola Christian College, Pensacola, Florida. He has four grandchildren surrendered to the mission field.
During Dr. Pittman’s ministry as senior pastor of Temple Baptist Church, the Lord called several preachers who are currently in the ministry, and many missionaries who are currently on the field serving the Lord. In addition, the mission’s giving increased from $16,000 per year in 1989, to almost $600,000 per year in 2025. He has overseen multiple building projects with the latest being a complete relocation of Temple Baptist Church and Christian School from Herndon to Dulles, Virginia, in 2024.

What Next?
On August 23, 2026, Dr. Pittman resigned as senior pastor of Temple Baptist Church to begin a “Ministry of Helps” to local churches and ministries around the world. He has preached many missions conferences for local churches, such as Campus Church, Pensacola, Florida, and has spoken at many Christian colleges, such as West Coast Baptist College, Lancaster, California; Heartland Baptist College, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Ambassador Baptist College, Lattimore, North Carolina; Fairhaven Baptist College, Fairhaven, Indiana; and PCC in Pensacola, Florida. He is willing to come to local Independent Baptist Churches and missionaries around the world to support their ministries. He is willing to come and do whatever is needed for pastors, missionaries, or churches in need of pulpit supply or encouragement to keep serving the Lord.
His greatest passion is to help local Independent Baptist churches with missions conferences, missions emphasis Sundays, and to see men and women surrender for full-time service, especially to the mission field. In the past 45 years he has traveled to over 40 countries doing construction trips, medical trips, and evangelistic trips to help missionaries evangelize the world.
